Gina was extremely helpful during the stress of our first venue filing for bankruptcy 5 months before our initial wedding date. However, this can vary widely depending on the vendors hired and location. Both theaters, which accommodate up to 230 guests, flaunt soaring hand-painted ceilings, impressive stages, and dramatic balconies that even the ancient gods would be envious of their beauty. TCA saved us at the last minute when our original reception venue closed unexpectedly, and were so accommodating. We had a wedding of about 150, so we picked the size of rooms to fit our wedding. It was also fantastic that the staff really handled all set up and tear down, we only had to drop of the additional things that we wanted to include and arrange for people to load gifts, excess alcohol and decor afterwards. We did not feel we needed to hire a 3rd party wedding planner since we had Gina and our DJ on site to keep everything running smoothly. We worked with Jackie and she took care of everything; she is a saint! I cannot recommend the athenaeum highly enough! Like I said: Amazing! Jackie graciously worked around my ever changing work and nursing school schedule when planning and showing off the venue to my out-of-state family. Her staff was great as well, and very helpful in the setup and break down of the wedding. The venue was absolutely stunning! I was also told by several guests that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The Boston Athenum is a unique combination of a library, museum, and cultural center in a magnificent landmark building. With her helping me plan the reception, there was no need for an outside wedding planner/coordinator. She tended to every one of our needs and made our special day exactly that, special.
